About our Food
Our mission at Moreld is to immerse our guests in the Norwegian landscape and local culture, inspire respect and reverence for it without having an adverse effect on it. We strive to remain in accord with this philosophy by providing for you as many locally procured and/ or organically raised ingredients in your meals as possible. We feel this is an important way to preserve the integrity of our environment and support the local culture and tradition. The certified organic farm located at our Vetle-Kroken center provides us with a great deal of our food. Fresh greens, raspberries, eggs, and vegetables from the Vetle-Kroken farm; fish from the fjord, and locally produced dried meats are among the ingredients you will find on the menu.
All of our meals are good and good for you (or at least good). We select fare that will balance a taste of Norwegian culture with something that will appeal to everyone.

For example, a typical lunch on an excursion with Moreld may include the following: home-baked bread, knekkebrød, fresh salad greens, Jarlsberg cheese, brown cheese, dried ham or goat sausage, fresh raspberries, homemade jam, and of course peanut butter.

On our overnight and extended trips, good food is of great importance- to keep us going on longer travel days and to make our time in the camp kitchen exciting, it is essential. As well as being top quality kayak and outdoor instructors, our guides are also top quality trailside chefs. We promise you will be impressed.

If, by chance, you do have dietary restrictions (vegetarian, food allergy, or otherwise) please let us know when booking your trip.
