It is the branch of the Sognefjord most closely connected to the mighty ice shield of Jostedalsbreen. Massive granite walls, steep forested slopes and the distinct turquoise water will welcome you. The occasional fjordside farm tells how life once was along the water.

Your campsite will provide you with the luxury of one of the most panoramic views in the fjordlands. By day 2, the the Bøyabreen and Flatbreen tongues of the glacier become more and more visible as you approach the glacier. We reach the little fjord village of Mundal, known as Fjærlandfjord’s book town.

This fascinating place has gained notoriety with its several hundred thousand books, many cafes, and glacier museum embedded in the midst of natural grandeur.

1 Day Glacier hike can be added to your tour! A ascent of 100mtrs will be rewarded with a hike on one of the finest glaciertongues in Norway, and a superb view back down to the Fjærlandfjord. Make your trip complete. Ask us for this option.
