Join us for what will truly be the trip of a lifetime! This trip is your chance to experience the fjord as the original inhabitants did: by sea and on foot in the mountains. Still open in 2008: 30 June - 3 July , 21 - 24 July , 26 - 29 August Other departures upon request.

We will spend the first two days paddling from Vetle-Kroken down the wild, roadless length of the Lustrafjord. We will overnight at an abandoned fjord-side farmstead where our only distractions will be the breaching of porpoises in the fjord and chiming of sheep’s bells in the hills.
On day two, we will arrive at Inner Offerdal, a historic farm site and location of the region’s first water powered sawmill. Here, we leave the kayaks and strap on our packs for the overland portion of our journey. Our first campsite is in the lower valley and relax in the mountain atmosphere with a hearty dinner and tales of the mountains. The next two days will bring us along ancient shepherd’s paths up and over the 1300 meter high pass. We will be in the company of foxes, eagles, ptarmigan, and even the occasional reindeer.
With clear skies, and from our lofty vantage point, we will marvel at the rugged peaks of the Jotunheim National Park, the turquoise waters of the Sognefjord, and the lily-white crown of the Jostedal Glacier. Before descending into the Kroken valley, we will hike past highland marshes at Tinghaug and a summer farm at Sipplehaug. Our journey concludes by descending the Kroken Valley and meandering back to Vetle-Kroken along the fjord.

This trip starts from and finishes at Kroken Weather can vary from warm and sunny to cold and windy. Be prepared for all thevariations. We will overnight in tents and prepare our own fine food.
